New Patient Story

I have wanted a family for as long as I can remember. My spouse and I attempted to start a family for 7 years without success. When we did conceive, we lost the baby at 9 weeks due to a chromosomal abnormality. I work in Ob/Gyn and went through a very difficult time with my mental health following that miscarriage and considered giving up my career. My spouse and I decided to stop attempting conception and go on living our lives. I persisted at work, and got pregnant two more times and delivered 2 healthy babies despite giving up! I am forever thankful for my "village" at work. If not for my co-workers and all of their support, comfort and knowledge, I would have given up not only my career but my desire to be a mother. They were such a comfort to me every step of the way. I am also thankful that I stayed in Ob/Gyn since these experiences help me empathize with the patients I encounter from day to day. This is my reminder that there is always a lesson to be learned from a challenge.
