New Patient Story

  • Location: Everett,

I grew up in southern Idaho with a passion for music and theatre. While going through school I planned to pursue a career in music or performing, indefinitely. There was nothing I had done in my entire life that gave me the feeling I got when performing. Unfortunately my insecurities around my weight, food and obsessing about what others thought about me led me to a nine year battle with addiction. I've been clean for six years now and have a husband and an amazing six year old son, who definitely saved my life. But since I began my journey with recovery I lost my passion for the arts and stopped doing the thing that brought me the most joy. I'm still searching for that passion I once had, but I've found that focusing on getting to know myself, love myself and serving others has slowly started to bring that joy back to me, little bits at a time. I don't know what my future holds as far as my career, but I know that I'm on the right track with my family by my side and living in service to others. There's no better way to get to know ones self than seeking to help those who need it. I'm grateful for what I've been through, and what I will go through and my ability to help others with what I've learned.
