Get as Healthy as I Can

walking walking

Well as I am getting very close to retirement age, I have decided to do something about my weight problem that I have had almost all my life. I do not want to retire and sit. I truely believe that at this age if you sit still your body will just freeze up and you will not be able to move. This is NOT an option for me. I am 65 years old and I have 10 grandchildren, locally that I am very involved in and they are almost all athletes. I begin walking in March to get ready for a Disneyland trip in May. I knew I would have to be able to walk all day to keep up with the rest of my family. I started walking about 2 blocks a night when I first started, it took me about a month to get up to 6 blocks, then 8 and at the present time I am walking a mile to 11/2 miles a night, I feel so much better and I am sleeping better. I am determined to shed some weight, I have a son who owns a gym I am going there Sunday (when no people will be around) to weight and measure myself and to get an idea of what exercise I can start with that will not hurt me. I am excited for this stage of my life and I want to get as healthy as I can before I retire. Thanks for listening!
