Cold Water Swimming

In the last few years I have discovered the physical and mental health benefits of cold water swimming. With a group of other nurses we've studied how to do this safely and gone in the Columbia River several times a week. It's wonderful to be on a beach and see the birds, clouds and boats. The water is never the same twice. We have learned to push our limits, explore our tolerance and bask in the post swim euphoria and camaraderie that occurs. This group and the cold water practice has become a vital part of my wellness routine.
